Goodbye Blue Monday - Conroy's Basement, Dundee, 24th February 2018

Misery punks Goodbye Blue Monday ripped it up in the basement on Saturday night. These guys are fucking great and have so many hooks it's unreal. Here's Love Is A Noose For Two from the gig.

Make That A Take have repressed GBM's The Sickness, The Shame EP so I'd recommend grabbing a copy before it's gone again from here: https://makethatatakerecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-sickness-the-shame

Mob 47 - Banshee, Edinburgh, 18th February 2018

I first heard Mob 47 in 87/88 through tape trading and was listed as Karnvapen Attack demo which I think was actually their first EP not a demo. I knew nothing about them prior to this I just picked it as it would fill up a side of a tape nicely but I loved the manic buzzsaw energy of it and it was actually the first music I'd got that wasn't in english which made it even more interesting and kind of exotic and opened my mind to checking out more european stuff such as Negazione, Crude SS, B.G.K., Riistetyet, Raw Power, Larm, etc
I never thought I would ever see them live as they were from Sweden and had split up so when Roddy announced he was putting them on in Scotland I had to go.
They were fucking great.
Here's a vid I made of last night for your enjoyment:
